Getting Started

Set up your first EBICS bank connection and initialize an EBICS user.

Prerequisites

Before you begin, ensure you have:

  • Bank-provided EBICS credentials (Host ID, Partner ID, User ID)
  • Bank's EBICS server URL
  • Access to the fourbics Client application

Step 1: Create a Bank Connection

A bank connection represents your link to a specific bank's EBICS server.

Required Information

Field Description Example
Host ID Bank's EBICS host identifier EBICHOST
Partner ID Your customer/partner ID PARTNER01
EBICS URL Bank's EBICS server endpoint https://server.fourbics.com/ebics
EBICS Version Protocol version (H004, H005, H006) H006

Testing the Connection

Before saving, test the connection using the HEV (EBICS Version) request:

HEV Request → Bank Server
Bank responds with supported EBICS versions
Connection verified!

Step 2: Create an EBICS User

An EBICS user represents your identity at the bank. Each user has:

  • A unique User ID (provided by the bank)
  • Three RSA key pairs (Signature, Authentication, Encryption)
  • Permissions for specific order types

User Configuration

Field Description Example
User ID Your EBICS user identifier USER001
Name Display name (optional) Treasury Department
Security Medium Usually 0000 for software keys 0000

Step 3: Initialize the User

New EBICS users must complete an initialization process before they can execute orders. See the Initialization Guide for detailed steps.
